Shane and Dana Lucas founded Fishetarian Fish Market out of their shared passion for fishing, cooking, and enjoying fresh, health-conscious seafood. Driven by a commitment to sustainable fishing and farming practices, they aim to preserve the natural beauty of our oceans. To support this mission, Fishetarian uses only recyclable, biodegradable, and compostable tableware, and sources ingredients locally and organically whenever possible.

Fishetarian is proud to offer sustainable, locally caught seafood alongside coastal favorites like fish and chips and chowder—all crafted with a healthy twist. The menu also features a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian options, addressing the demand for wholesome choices in Bodega Bay's charming, remote beach town.

Shane brings over 40 years of fishing experience to Fishetarian. Nicknamed "The Seafood Guru," he has spent more than two decades selling "fresh off the dock" seafood. Shane's deep connection to the industry began in 1973 when his parents, Jim and Peggy Lucas, purchased the Lucas Wharf fish dock and opened Lucas Wharf Restaurant in 1984. His family, including his father, uncle, and grandfather, operated the vessel "The Silver Seas," trawling for groundfish and pink shrimp along California’s North Coast. Growing up immersed in the family business, Shane developed a profound appreciation for quality and flavor, which he brings to every dish at Fishetarian.

The name "Fishetarian" reflects Dana’s journey. A longtime vegetarian, she embraced the joys of seafood after meeting Shane. Today, Shane’s expertise ensures that only the finest fish makes it into the market case at Fishetarian Fish Market in Bodega Bay, CA.
